High School Girls

Joshi Kosei (Japanese女子 高 生, dt " high school students ", also known as High School Girls) is a manga series by Towa Oshima, which appeared from 2001 to 2006 in Japan. The work is classified in the genres of romance and comedy and was adapted as an anime television series.

Content

The plot revolves around a group of students who go on a Japanese girls high school. The cheerful and somewhat Eriko Takahashi (高桥 絵 里 子), the restrained Ayano Satō (佐藤 绫 乃) and somewhat devious Yuma Suzuki (铃木 由 真), have long been close friends who visit the school together. But the school day turns out to be not as nice as they have hoped. This leads to an argument with other students or the three believe the teacher Odagiri would be perverse.

Publication

The manga was published from 2001 to 2004 in the magazine Weekly Manga Action, then until the end of 2006 in Comic High!. Both magazines belong to the publisher Futabasha, who published the chapters in nine anthologies.

The series has been translated into English, French, Spanish and Chinese.

Anime

The studio arm produced in 2006 a twelve episode anime adaptation called Joshi Kosei: Girl's High (女子 高 生Girl's HIGH) of the manga for television. Directed by Yoshitaka Fujimoto, Seiji Kishimoto drew the character design and the art direction was incumbent Kazusuke Yoshihara. The series was conceived by Hideki Shirane.

The first broadcast of the series took place from April 4 to June 20, 2006 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) on TV Saitama, and with half an hour offset on Chiba TV and Sun TV. The anime even with AT- X, Nagoya Broadcasting Network and TV Kanagawa was moved a few days shown. About the platforms Anime News Network, Crunchyroll, Hulu and YouTube was an English subtitled version available as well as a French subtitled on Gong. A Spanish translation was broadcast by Buzz Channel.

The soundtrack of the series comes from fishing touch. The header title is Kirameku of yozuca * and used for the end credits to the song incl meg rock.

Video game

In September 2006 appeared to series of a video game for the PlayStation 2 entitled Joshi Kosei: Game's High! (女子 高 生GAME'S -HIGH! ).
