High Tide (Band)

High Tide was a British progressive rock band that was founded in 1969.

History

The founding members of High Tide were Tony Hill ( guitar, vocals ), Simon House (violin, keyboards), Peter Pavli (bass) and Roger Hadden (drums). In 1969 they released their debut album Sea Shanties, 1970 their second album High Tide. The album received good reviews, remained commercially but fell short of expectations. During the recording of a third album in 1970, Roger Hadden failed after a breakdown, and the group broke up.

The duo Hill and house made in the late 1970s with the aid of a drum machine recordings, which were only published in 1989 under the title Interesting Times on CD and vinyl.

After House had in 1990 again connected Hawkwind, Hill brought in this year, two albums, Precious Cargo and The Flood, with shots of High Tide and individual band members from the years 1970 to 1979 on the market. Hill also made a new band called High Tide together, consisting of Tony Hill ( guitar, bass ), Dave Tomlin (violin, bass) and dragons Theaker (drums). With various guest musicians, including Peter Pavli and Simon House, they recorded three albums: A Fierce Nature, Ancient Gates and The Reason of Success.

In 2000, the compilation album was released in Open Season. Music from High Tide was also published in various progressive rock samplers.
