Hikari, Yamaguchi

Hikari (Japanese光 市, -shi, literally: City of Light ) is a city in Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan.

Geography

Hikari located south of Iwakuni on the Seto Inland Sea.

History

The city Hikari was founded on April 1, 1943 July 1, 1965 and again on 4 October 2004. It is thus with Yamaguchi and Ichinoseki one of three cities in Japan 3 times got its town charter.
