Himeshima, ÅŒita

Himeshima (Japanese姫 岛村, -mura ) is a village in the municipality Higashikunisaki -gun in the Japanese prefecture of Oita.

Geography

The village lies on the island Himeshima.

Due to the large Heisei incorporation, in which the number of community Prefecture fell from 58 to 18, is Himeshima since March 31, 2006, the only village community ( mura ) in Oita.

Economy

Because of its insularity people live mainly from fishing and tourism. You can fish for plaice and sea bream.

Education

In Himeshima there are two schools: the elementary school and the middle school Himeshima Himeshima.
