The Hingol National Park is located on Hingol River in the Makran coast in the Pakistani province of Baluchistan, was established in 1997. However, the area received already in 1988, official protection status. The total area covers about 6100 km ², making it the largest national park in the country. The park also includes the Dhrun National Wildlife Refuge.

Landscape and vegetation

The vegetation is very diverse, ranging from tropical forests in the north to dry mountain areas of the west. The largest part of the park take a coastal semi-desert. In addition, the park includes parts of the estuary of the River Hingol.

Wildlife

The park is home to 3,000 wild goats, wild sheep and steppe in 1500 over 1200 Indian gazelle. More animals that parks are jackals, red foxes, jungle cats and porcupines. Leopards are extremely rare, striped hyenas and wolves are on the verge of extinction. In Hingolfluss still live marsh crocodiles. Among the birds are bustards collar and gray pelicans regular guests of the park.
