Sea Buckthorn ( Hippophae rhamnoides )

The sea buckthorn ( Hippophae ) are a genus of flowering plants in the family of oil willow family ( Elaeagnaceae ).

Features

The Hippophae species grow as thorny, deciduous shrubs or trees. The alternate, opposite or whorled leaves are arranged simply and at least short-stalked. The leaf margins are smooth.

The Hippophae species are dioecious getrenntgeschlechtig ( dioecious ). The male flowers are borne in, appearing before the leaves emerge, small, kitten -like inflorescences. The male flowers contain two membranous bracts, a small discus and four free stamens. The female flowers are borne in small, racemose inflorescences. Your bracts are fused Roehrig.

There are yellow to orange- red formed, spherical to cylindrical stone fruits.

Species

  • Hippophae litangensis YSLian & XueL.Chen ex Swenson & Bartish: It is endemic in the area of ​​Litang in Sichuan at an altitude of about 3700 m.
  • Hippophae neurocarpa SWLiu & TNHe: The home of the Chinese provinces of Qinghai, Sichuan, Xizang at altitudes 3400-4400 meters.
  • Hippophae salicifolia D.Don: The home is Bhutan, northern India, Nepal and southern Xizang at altitudes 2800-3500 meters in the Himalayas.
  • Hippophae tibetana Schlechtendal: The home is Bhutan, northern India, Nepal and the Chinese provinces: Gansu, Qinghai, Xizang at altitudes 3600-4700 meters in the Himalayas.
