Hiroaki Ishiura

Hiroaki Ishiura (Japanese石浦 宏 明, Hiroaki Ishiura; born April 23, 1981 in Setagaya, Tokyo ) is a Japanese racing driver. He rode from 2008 to 2011 in the Formula Nippon.

Career

Ishiura began his motorsport career in karting and was from 1999 to 2001 in this sport actively. In 2003 he moved to Formula racing and finished fourth in the Japanese Formula Toyota. He spent the next two years in this series and was sixth in 2004 and 2005, third in the drivers' standings. In 2006 he moved into the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and finished the season with a race win in ninth place overall. He also competed in one race in the Super GT. In 2007 he sang his second season in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship. With two victories, he improved to fourth place in the drivers' standings. He also won along with Kazuya Oshima, the GT300 rating in the Super GT.

In 2008 he moved to Team LeMans in the Formula Nippon and ended his debut season at the 16th place overall. He was also 15th in the Super GT. 2009 Ishiura drove in Formula Nippon regularly in the points. With a third place, he scored his first podium placement. In the Drivers' Championship, he finished sixth overall. In the Super GT he could win a race and finish the season in ninth place. In 2010 he exhibited in the Formula Nippon once again before a third place as best result. In the overall standings, he was eighth. In the Super GT, he chose another race for himself and improved to sixth place overall.

2011 moved Ishiura within the Formula Nippon team to Kygnus Sunoco. A second place was his best result and he finished the season on top of the sixth. In addition, Ishiura was active in the Super GT and there was overall seventh.
