Hiroshi Fushida

Hiroshi Fushida (Japanese鲋 子 田 寛, Fushida Hiroshi, born March 10 1946 in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture) is a former Japanese racing driver.

Career

Hiroshi Fushida began his racing career in the mid 1960s in Japan. By the end of the decade he rose to become one of the most successful sports car drivers of his country. The later belonging to the World Sports Car Championship Japanese long-distance race, the 1000 km race at Suzuka and the 1,000 km race at Fuji, he won several times. In Suzuka, he secured the overall victory in 1971, together with Yoshimasa Kawaguchi on a Porsche 910 In his home country he was to the end of his career, one of the top drivers in the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship.

After Europe, he came in 1975 as a factory driver from Maki engineering to be driving their F101 in the Formula 1 World Championship. Neither the Grand Prix of the Netherlands nor the Grand Prix of Great Britain, he was able to qualify the car for the race. Both times he had large gap to the respective pole position time. At Zandvoort, he would, despite the large residue can participate in the race, but engine failure prevented a start. After the race in the UK, he was replaced by Tony Trimmer.
