Hiroshima (song)

Hiroshima is the only hit of the British pop group Wishful Thinking, which was founded in the late 1960s. The song is about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.

In 1969, the band Wishful Thinking took together on the written by Dave Morgan song " Hiroshima " and were able to publish this in 1971 with Atlantic Records. The production was the inclusion of Lou Reizner. The sales figures were, however, very weak and the group broke up soon again.

In 1977, German broadcasters discovered this song and took it to current events into their programs. The song was then played so often that keen interest in music came up and this was re-released by the record company Global. In Germany this was done as a single " Hiroshima " and " She Belongs to the Night". In the spring of 1978, the single finally reached # 8 in the German charts. The band started a reunion in the studio and recorded a further production, however, did not bring the hoped-for success. Even in their native Britain they could not place on the charts with the song. The band was a one- hit wonder.

The group met with their hit never to live.

The song " Hiroshima " was sung by other artists ( selection):

  • Puhdys - Computer Career (1983 )
  • Sandra - Paintings in Yellow on (1990, # 4 in Germany and Switzerland )
