Hit & Miss is a British television series that was erstausgestrahlt 2012 with six episodes on the British television channel Sky Atlantic. The series was written by Paul Abbott. Actress Chloë Sevigny embodies in the series, the trans female assassin Mia Mia learns after the death of her former partner that she has a natural son of primary school age and is now responsible for him and his siblings.
Despite very good reviews, popular success and further licensing of foreign channels, the show was canceled after one season.
Action
Chloë Sevigny embodies in the series have not yet operated transsexual contract killer Mia, who works for a firm client named Eddie in order thus to finance their surgery. Mia learns after the cancer death of her former partner that she has a biological son, the eleven year old Ryan. For this and his three siblings, who live on a small farm in Yorkshire, she now takes over custody. Now living in the countryside, but still working for Eddie, Mia has to be the various roles justice.
Development and production
Hit & Miss is the first in-house production of the transmitter in the UK. It is based on two different ideas that Abbott could merge by Sean Conway in a script. The actress Chloë Sevigny was impressed by the script, but was at times unsure if she could the role justice and whether a man or a transsexual could play the role better, especially with regard to the uptake by the LGBT community. The producer Nicola Shindler said they had the true contemplated but ultimately decided for best actress.
Sevigny noticed that the production was especially in comparison to well-funded HBO's Big Love, in which she appeared for several years, pronounced " low budget ".
Although the director of Sky Atlantic, Naomi Gibney explained that the station had thus made " a conscious investment in British dramas ", was until beginning of July 2012 still unclear whether the series will continue with a second season. On September 4, 2012, then announced that there would be no continuation in spite of encouragement by critics and audiences.
Licensing
On 2 July 2012, the squadron was released as a DVD. In the U.S., Hit & Miss was aired from 10 July 2012 from DirecTV, Australia from 5 November 2012, ABC 2
In France, Canal beamed from the series from 21 February 2013 in Poland, she ran from 6 March 2013 Filmbox Extra, in Germany they ran from 14 May 2013 RTL Crime.
Criticism
In the UK, the series underwent a majority of good reviews for her charisma. The Telegraph praised the fact that the absurd and exaggerated acting history is proving to be unexpectedly moving thanks to the insightful screenplay by Abbott and nuanced game of Sevigny.
In the United States Variety praised the series as " taut and engrossing " tells. Serienjunkies.de attested to the pilot, he would prefer someone like an undertow in the story of Mia pure, "Continue watching highly recommended ."
