Hjalgrim Elttør ( born March 3, 1983 in Klaksvík, Faroe Islands ) is a Faroese football player who is active in KÍ Klaksvík and in the färoischen national football team.

Association

Hjalgrim Elttør played in 1999 at age 16 for the third team of KÍ Klaksvík in the third league game against B71 Sandur II, where he scored all the goals for KÍ at the 3:14 - away defeat. This effort on the second match was his only of the season. The following season Elttør was first used in the cup, and gave there in the group stage in a 2-0 away win against NSÍ Runavík his debut from the start, where he was replaced in the 52nd minute against Arnold Joensen. In the quarterfinals, he saved KÍ the Match against FS Vágar with his first Cup matches at 2-2 in the final minute into overtime, but the team finally retired in the penalty shoot- out. Also in the first division debut on the opening day against Elttør NSÍ when he came on in the 82nd minute for Jan Joensen, the game was at home with 0:1 lost. At 18, he was one of the key players of the first team and played 2001, all league games for KÍ, most unlike last year also from the beginning. In the 2001 /02 season, he was tested by Aston Villa and sporadically used in their youth and reserve team. 2002 should be his goal tally in the league to change abruptly when Elttør met eleven times in 18 games. This led to the election of the Rookie of the Year. In 2003 he managed 13 goals in the record of the first Faroese League and thus the award for the top scorer.

Mid-2004 Elttør from his original club KÍ Klaksvík for a year in the Danish 1st Division to Fremad Amager, where he played among others, along with his compatriots Andrew av Fløtum and Jann Ingi Petersen. After his return to the Faroe he played for two years with KÍ. 2006 was Elttør with his team again in the cup final against B36 Tórshavn, which was this time lost with 1:2. A year later Elttør went to NSÍ Runavík. Right in the first year, the team succeeded in the championship, his former teammates were among other Jóhan Troest Davidsen, Jónhard Frederiksberg, Høgni Christian Jacobsen, Jens Martin Knudsen, Bogi Løkin, Pól Thorsteinsson and Einar Tróndargjógv. The following Supercup Cup Winners EB / Streymur was defeated 4-0. However, the game of the Atlantic Cup against the Icelandic champions Valur Reykjavík was lost with 2:5, Elttør met here once.

After Elttør aground the first half of the 2009 season for NSÍ, he moved back to mid-term to KÍ and played there the rest of the games. After the descent, he moved to league rivals B36 Tórshavn to it again to play one year for KÍ, which could reach the resurgence.

European Cup

A total of nine times ran Elttør been on in qualification rounds for the European Cup. He made his debut in 2000/ 01 for KÍ Klaksvík in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the Champions League against Red Star Belgrade, which was lost 0-2 away, thus KÍ retired after the previously suffered 0-3 defeat in the first leg. Elttør was here on as a substitute in the 71st minute for Hedin á Lakjuni. His only European goal he scored in 2008/ 09 for NSÍ Runavík in the first qualifying round of the Champions League in a 1-0 home win against Dinamo Tbilisi, which, however, after the 0-3 defeat in the first leg was not enough to progress.

National

Hjalgrim Elttør completed so far 27 games for the Faroese national team, a goal this did not succeed. He made his debut on 10 February 2002 with a friendly against Poland in Limassol, which has been lost 1:2. Elttør came on in the 84th minute for Jákup á Borg. Elttør played on 16 October 2002 with the Faroese in qualifying for the European Championship finals in Hannover in 2004 against the runners-up Germany and had shortly before closing the option of 2-2. Here he stood alone in the 82nd minute before Oliver Kahn, but hit the post.
