Hjalmar Borgstrøm

Hjalmar Borgstrøm ( born March 23, 1864 in Kristiania (now Oslo), † July 5, 1925 ) was a Norwegian composer and music journalist.

Borgstrøm was a pupil of Ludvig Mathias Lindeman and Johan Svendsen, and studied at the Conservatory of Leipzig. Since 1901 he worked as a music journalist for various magazines in Oslo.

He composed two operas, two symphonies, several symphonic poems (including Hamlet and refueling), a piano and a violin concerto, string quartets and a piano quintet, violin sonatas, piano pieces and songs.
