HC Dukla Trenčín is an ice hockey club in the city of Trenčín in Slovakia, who plays in the Slovak Extraliga Slovnaft and won three league titles since 1993. Play their home games at the club from 1960 built Zimný Štadión Trenčín.

History

As of 1956, the Army Sports Clubs in Czechoslovakia were reorganized. In 1962 it was decided to relocate the existing club VTJ Dukla Trenčín and Opava after rename in Dukla Trenčín VTJ. As a result, Dukla participated in the second division of Czechoslovakia, the second league, in part. 1966, 1968 and 1971 reached Dukla the championship of the Slovak group of the League, which later became first Slovenská Národná hokejová league, but schweiteret each on promotion to the 1st League. The same placement reached the club a year later, this time behind the HC Sparta Prague. In the penultimate season of the common league of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and in 1991/92, Dukla Trenčín took after the regular season in first place of the season West. In the playoffs Dukla Poldi Kladno struck first with 3:2, the HC Litvinov 3-1 and met in the play-off final at the HC Škoda Plzeň. After four more games Plzeň was defeated 3-1 Dukla Trenčín and celebrated the biggest success of the club's history: the profit of the Czechoslovakian league title. Outstanding actor in the playoffs was Žigmund Palffy, who scored 18 goals and eight assists for Trenčín in 13 playoff games.

After the division of the League Dukla was Slovakian champion and repeated this success in 1997 and 2004 in the very first season of the Slovak Extraliga.
