HK Jestřábi Prostějov

The HK Jestřábí Prostějov is a Czech ice hockey club from Prostějov, taking part in the third division of the Czech Republic, the second league. He is the successor club of HC Prostějov, which was founded in 1913 as Sportovní klub Prostějov.

History

The origin association was founded in 1913 under the name Sportovní klub Prostějov. In 1948, the club in Sokol II Prostějov was renamed in 1950 in Sokol CSSA Prostějov, 1953 in Tatran Prostějov and 1956 in Slovan Prostějov. In December 1959, the club merged with BANIK Prostějov on TJ Železárny Prostějov - under this name played the club until 1969, was then played to the end of the 1980s as TJ Prostějov before he became the club renamed HKC Prostějov.. In 1995, the sports bra Prostějov the game operation, but disappeared again in 1997. Then took the IHC Prostějov, s.r.o. the operation of gambling, but sold after the 1997/98 season the license to the HC Rosice. Therefore, the IHC Prostějov took 1998/99 participated in the second league, which he won, and thus again ascended into the first league. At the end of the 2003/04 season the club lost the relegation order to remain in the first league and dismounted. Then, the club disbanded. In parallel, founded the present HK Jestřábí Prostějov, who acquired the license of the HC and was in season 2004/ 05 champions of the 2nd league. Between 2005 and 2008 the club was playing in the first league, before he descended into the 2nd league in 1998.
