HK Mogilev

The HK Mogilev ( up to 2010 HK Khimvolokno Mogilev, Russian ХК Могилёв ) is a Belarusian ice hockey club from Mogilev, who plays in the Belarusian Extraliga. The club was founded in 2000 and plays its home matches at the Ice Palace Mogilev, which offers 3,048 spectators.

History

The HK Mogilev was founded in 2000. The team took from the season 2000/ 01 part in the game operation of the Belarusian Extraliga. In the 2001 / 02 season, the team reached the playoff final of the Extraliga, in which they, however, the HK Keramin Minsk subject in the best- of-five series with a sweep. From 2001 to 2004 the team also participated in the East European Hockey League.

Was informed in a press statement in July 2013 that the club was insolvent and would be dissolved. The second team of HK Mogilev II would continue to participate in contrast to the professional team at the match operation of the Wysschaja league. The end of July, the club was saved by regional authorities before the bankruptcy and put under state administration. With a budget of approximately 1.1 million euros he will continue to participate in the Extraliga.
