HK Spartak Subotica

HK Spartak ( Serbian Cyrillic ХК Спартак Суботица ) is an ice hockey club from Subotica, Serbia, taking part in the Serbian Hockey League. The home games of the Association are at the rink Gradsko Klizalište ( Serbian Cyrillic Градско клизалиште ) held that hold 1,000 spectators.

History

Hockey was played before the Second World War in Subotica. It was then played on the nearby Palic, when he was frozen. The club itself was founded in 1945 and the first official game was played in 1947. From the season 1952/53, the team regularly took part in the game operation of the Yugoslav Hockey Championship. After the dissolution of SFR Yugoslavia HK Spartak Subotica occurred also in the successor competitions, including the Serbian Hockey League. So far, the team was able to win a title. Greatest success was the play-off win in the season 2009/10. Subsequently, the club however, refused to take up the Serbian league title in a final against the Super HK Partizan Belgrade from the Slohokej league, which is why the league title was awarded at the green table at Partizan.
