Hliník nad Hronom

Hliník nad Hronom (up to 1927 Slovak only " Hliník "; rarely Hlinick German, Hungarian Geletnek ) is a town in central Slovakia.

Location

It is located in the foothills of the Pohronie Selmec mountains. Through the community's main road leads I/65 between Žarnovica (8 km towards the southwest ) and Žiar nad Hronom / Zvolen (9 miles/30 km to the east ). It has a station on the railway line Nové Zámky - Zvolen.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1075 as Gelednuk.
