HLN (TV channel)

HLN (also: Headline News, formerly CNN Headline News, CNN2 ) is an American television station based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded by Ted Turner as an offshoot of the world's first pure CNN and started began broadcasting on 1 January 1982. HLN is operated by Turner Broadcasting System, which is a subsidiary of the media conglomerate Time Warner since 1996. Main responsibility of the sender is CNN Vice President Ken Jautz.

History

CNN was founded in 1980 by Ted Turner and was successful. In the following years, an offshoot was developed, which went on the air as CNN2 on 1 January 1982. The concept of CNN2 it was to summarize the news of the day in 30 - minute blocks, so that viewers could turn at any time and were informed at this time fully aware of the latest news from politics, sports, business and entertainment. A year after the first broadcast CNN2 was renamed CNN Headline News. In the late 1990s the live broadcast program has been replaced by pre-recorded elements, so that a large part of the workforce could be saved.

In 2005, the program has been extensively remodeled. The continuous news reporting has been replaced by evening moderated shipments partially.   • Issues with Jane Velez -Mitchell, a consignment which deals with controversial issues from the world of celebrities, spectacular current criminal cases and political issues. The show runs 19 to 20 clock EST and will be hosted by Jane Velez -Mitchell.
  • Nancy Grace: This is the most watched show on HLN. Host Nancy Grace, a former prosecutor, prioritized current criminal cases such as Infanticide, 20-21 clock EST.
  • Dr. Drew: Doctors Talk, 21-22 Clock EST
  • The Joy Behar Show: A talk show with celebrities and other media personalities, hosted by Joy Behar. From 22-23 clock EST, the program deals with topics from the fields of entertainment, politics, sports and media.
  • Showbiz Tonight: Entertainment News, 23 clock EST

From midnight until early by 6 clock EST weekday prime-time shows will be repeated.
