Hlohovec District

The Okres Hlohovec is an administrative region in western Slovakia with 45 282 inhabitants ( 2004) and an area of 267 km ².

The district is located in the southern reaches of the Danube hill country ( Podunajská pahorkatina ) around the river Vah. To the west of Trnava district, in the north of the district includes Piešťany, on the east the districts Topoľčany and Nitra in Nitriansky kraj and south of the district Galanta on.

Historically the district in the former county Neutra located (see also List of historic counties of Hungary ).
