View from Titisee to the high ridge

The high ridge is a wooded mountain between Saig and Titisee-Neustadt in the Black Forest with an elevation of 1190.1 meters above sea level. NHN.

Location

The mountain is located on the municipal boundary between Lenzkirch and Titisee -Neustadt. On the high ridge there is a rest area and a lookout tower. From the top you have a view of the nearby Titisee and Feldberg. In clear weather you can see in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, under ideal conditions, even in the French Alps to the Italian border, so among other things, to the Mont Blanc.

Observation tower

The 1890 built in steel truss design high ridge tower is 25 meters high and stands on a stone pedestal. This is from a 1888 built wooden tower, in 1890 a hurricane became a victim. The tower carries today also transmit antennas for radio relay and mobile communications. A special feature of the high ridge tower is additionally guyed.

Way to the summit

For high ridge opens out onto different paths from Titisee Neustadt or by the shortest route leads from Saig to the summit. However, there is also a road connection to the high ridge tower of New Town.

Winter sports

On the high ridge Hochfirstschanze on which Ski Jumping World Cup is taking place.
