Hoefler Text

Hoefler Text is a Antiqua, which was designed for the California computer maker Apple in order to demonstrate the possibilities of new writing techniques. Hoefler Text font should enable the highest level and therefore is stylistically based on classic writings. The appearance of Hoefler Text was influenced by the writings of Jean Jannon Baroque and Nicholas Kis from the 17th century. Hoefler Text was designed by the Hoefler & Frere -Jones.

Hoefler Text uses the sophisticated typographic capabilities of Apple Advanced Typography (AAT) and allows font with automatic ligatures, long s and a round s, true small caps, old style figures and swashes. Hoefler Text includes its own ornament character set. In addition, a separate character set range is available for headings, Hoefler Titling.
