Hofstetten, Zürich

Hofstetten (not officially also Hofstetten bei Elgg ) is a municipality in the district of Winterthur in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

The municipality also includes the hamlet Hofstetten Dickbuch, Jakobstal, Geretswil, Huggenberg, deep stone, Scheunberg, climbing and Wenzikon.

Geography

Hofstetten between Murg and Tösstal north of the mountain look, on the eastern border of the canton of Zurich. The community area is covered with forest, 46%, 50 % are used for agriculture.

The community Hofstetten bordered to the north to the town of Elgg, in the east on Aadorf (TG), to the southeast by Bichelsee -Balterswil (TG), to the south by Turbenthal, on the west by Schlattmann and to the northwest by Elsau.

Population

The main language is 98.6% German, 0.5% speak French besides Italian, and 0.25 % of the population.

The SVP has 66%, SP 9.2%, EPP 7.5%, the FDP 6.7%, Green 3.1% and 1.1% CVP
