High Village is a district of the town of Wolgast in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). Until the end of 2011 High village was an independent municipality with the hamlets of High village, Schalense, Pritzier and Zarnitz.

Geography and transport

High village is situated about three kilometers southwest of Wolgast, between the two places is the Ziesaberg. East of the town is the river Peene ( inlet of the Baltic Sea), here the Ziese empties into the. Through the village pass the provincial road 26 and the railway line Züssow - Swinoujscie. The State Road 26 crosses the highway at exit 111 in the village Schalense.

History

The village chief village was first mentioned in 1319 as Hogendorp documented. The area around the village chief, however, was settled earlier, prove what prehistoric finds.
