The High Eimberg in Willingen is a 806.1 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in Rothaargebirge on the border of Hesse, Waldeck -Frankenberg, and North Rhine -Westphalia Hochsauerlandkreises.
Geography
Location
The High Eimberg is located in the northeast part of the Rothaargebirge at the junction of the Upper Sauerland in Westphalia Hochsauerlandkreis and Upland in northern Hesse Waldeck- Frankenberg in both sides of the border lying Diemelsee Nature Park. It represents the southern elevation of the mountain train Dreis, whose northern of the three head. Its summit rises to Willinger area a few meters southeast of the border, about 2 km north- northwest of the Willinger core location, 2 km west of the district Schwalefeld and 3.8 km (depending on distance) south-southeast of Brilon-Wald; near the summit is located at 805.5 m height of the highest point located on the border of the city of Westphalia Brilon. Mountain height

The High Eimberg heard in the physiographic feature unit group Süder Bergland ( number 33) in the main unit Rothaargebirge ( with Sauerland ) ( 333) and in the subunit Hochsauerländ Canyon Mountains ( 333.8 ) for the most part to the natural space Schellhorn and Treis Forest ( 333.82 ), with its southern flank in the subunit Upland ( 333.9 ) for natural space affairs Upland ( 333.90 ) counts.
Lying On the Westphalian parts of the mountain parts of the Protected Landscape Area Hoppecke Diemel Bergland (Landscape Type A) ( CDDA-Nr. 345 020; reported in 1989; 78.03 km ² ).
Planned pumped storage power plant
Since 2011 Plans are the power company Mark-E ( Hagen ) and green plants ( Dusseldorf ) to build a pumped storage power plant with an upper reservoir on the High Eimberg and a lower basin in Itterbachtal at Schwalefeld with an investment of around 500 million euros. Alternative location for such a plant is the Sorpeberg at Glinge ( Finnentrop ) in the neighboring district of Olpe. Currently, it is assumed that at least ten years of planning and implementation period. Construction should not take place before 2019.
The upper basin of the site High Eimberg, are required for the 23.5 ha area at 128 192 m² storage area shall be allowed to take on about 2.67 million cubic meters of water with 2.51 million m³ pendulum amount of water. At 30 m depth, it should be surrounded by a ring-shaped earth and rockfill dam with height of 15 m, the dam material in the mass balance of the dredged basin area would. Transport and Hiking
