Hokuriku region
Hokuriku (北 陆 地方jap, Chiho, dt " region of North Country ") is a sub-region of the Chūbu region of Japan. It covers the portion of the region, which faces the Sea of Japan.
The region includes the Fukui Prefecture, the prefecture of Ishikawa and Toyama Prefecture. The boundaries are not clearly defined, many are still to Niigata. Otherwise, Niigata and Nagano form the Shin'etsu region, which then forms the Hokuriku Region - Shin'etsu or shortly region Hokushin'etsu with Hokuriku.
Hokuriku less coincides with the historical region of Hokurikudō Gokishichidō system.
