The HomePlug Powerline Alliance - in short: HomePlug Alliance - is an American umbrella organization which for the development and standardization of power line communication technologies (PLC ) provides responsible. The members of the alliance are companies from all parts of the value chain - from research and development through to service and content. In addition to in-house PLC solutions, the Alliance is also committed to narrowband area.

The Association was established in March 2000 launched the first HomePlug standard 1.0 adopted in June 2001.

Structure

The HomePlug Alliance consists of 56 members, who are divided into three groups - " sponsors " ( sponsor), "partners " ( Participants ) and " users " ( adopters ):

  • The " sponsors " are the driving forces in the Alliance and provide the Board of Directors. These include Broadcom Corporation, Cisco Systems, Duke Energy, MStar Semiconductor and Qualcomm Atheros.
  • The "partners " are associate members who work on the Powerline Specifikationen and in the marketing development. This is done through participation in working groups and amounts to. These include, inter alia, D-Link, devolo, Landis Gyr, Marvell Technology Group, Orange, Renesas Electronics, Sony Germany, Southern California Edison, State Grid Electric Power Research Institute and Texas Instruments.   • The " users " are associate members who want to use the HomePlug powerline technology in their products and services.
