The Río Hondo Hondo or River is a 209 km long border between Belize and Mexico.

The Río Hondo is caused by several rivers such as the Río Azul (later in Belize Blue Creek ) and Chanchich (Río Bravo), the rise in the Petén Basin in Guatemala and which springs Booth's River in Orange Walk District in Belize. At Blue Creek Village on the Belizean side and La Unión on the Mexican side, the rivers meet and form the Río Hondo. After 150 kilometers, it then opens near the Mexican city of Chetumal in Chetumal Bay in the Caribbean Sea. In the vicinity of the river were also found pre-Columbian Mayan settlements. It drains an area of 13,500 km ².
