Hong Kong Open (Golf)

The Hong Kong Open is a golf tournament, which is held on the Asian Tour. It was founded in 1959 and belongs since 2001 to the European Tour calendar. The Hong Kong Golf Association, Hong Kong and Chinese PGA PGA receive an exemption that allows the participation of their members in the tournament.

Since the membership of the European Tour, the tournament has always been held in Sheung Shui Hong Kong Golf Club.

The tournament is usually played at the end of the year and fell to 2008 in the following season on the European Tour. In 2009 it was decided to move the tournament to the calendar year, so the Hong Kong Open was held twice this season. However, the 2013 tournament scored again for the 2014 season on the European Tour.

2008, who lives in Florida Hong Kong amateur Jason Hak became the youngest player to have ever made ​​the cut in a European Tour event. At 14 years and 304 days, he beat the record of Sergio García at the Turespana Open Mediterrania from the year 1995.
