Hopelchén Municipality

Hopelchén is a municipality in the northeast of the Mexican state of Campeche. The municipality has 37,777 inhabitants and is 7803.222 km ². Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same Hopelchén, another major places in the municipality are Bolonchen de Rejón, Vicente Guerrero, Dzibalchén and Ukum.

The name translates as Hopelchén, five wells '.

The municipality borders the Municipalities Tzimol Calkiní, Hecelchakán, Tenabo, Campeche, Calakmul and Champotón as well as the states of Yucatán and Quintana Roo.

Among the tourist attractions in the municipality include the two archaeological sites of Santa Rosa Xtampak and Dzibilnocac.
