Horace Rice

Horace Baldwin " Horrie " Rice ( born September 5, 1872 in Sydney, Australia, † 1950 ) was an Australian tennis player.

Career

Rice took from 1898 to tennis tournaments.

In 1907 he won the Australian Championships as the third tennis player. He could this success in subsequent years not repeat, but was in the years 1910, 1911 and 1915 in the final. He also won in 1910 along with Ashley Campbell and 1915 with Clarence Todd the doubles competition. Competition in the mixed doubles, he won at the side of Sylvia Lance Harper, 1923.

1913 Rice appeared a single time at the Wimbledon Championships, but was defeated Alfred Beamish clear in three sets.

He died in 1950 at the age of 77 years in Sydney.
