Hordanes country is the first EP by the Norwegian Viking metal band Enslaved. It was released in 1993 by Candlelight Records on LP and a split - CD with Emperor Emperors first EP. In addition, Candlelight Records released in 2004 Hordanes country along with the debut album Vikingligr Veldi remastered as a double CD. Alone was re-released on CD in 2009 Hordanes country with accompanying information Ivar Bjørnson of the founders and Grutle Kjellson by Candlelight Records on LP Back on Black and Picture- LP each of Black Sleeves, WTC Productions and Blood & Iron Productions, the latter as gatefold LPs with old photographs of the band and printed inner sleeve.

The first piece, Slaget i skogen bortenfor was described by Antonio Espinosa as " symphonic rampage " and begins with a chorus that " in an ocean of blast beats and Verzerung " dissolves.
Allfǫðr Óðinn points to the roots of Enslaveds later progressive style.
Balfǫr includes deep piano passages and created an "atmosphere that is dark, eerie, epic and beautiful at the same time ."
Reception
Robert Mueller of the German Metal Hammer called Enslaveds " contribution to gandiosen [ sic] split LP with Emperor" as " something like the secret highlight: Nordic myths songs about dräuendem Black Metal mixed with hint of avant-garde Pan.Thy.Monium Sprengseln "; in comparison, was their debut album " a little disappointing, because where once the always long songs could come up with many interesting facets, now reigns a bit too often monotonous rage ". Antonio Espinosa summed up his review for Sputnik Music with the words " A true masterpiece of the now legendary Norwegian black metal scene " together. In Slaget i bortenfor skogen associations to the best aspects of Black Metal, the aggression, the symphonic approaches that incomprehensible screams and the beauty behind the dark exterior, and all elements blended perfectly; every detail was thought through in order to contribute to the atmosphere, and even the spoken passages fit perfectly into the " madness " into it. The composition with Allfǫðr Óðinn is complex and effective, especially in light of the young age of Ivar Bjørnson. The highlight was Balfǫr, which set the standard for all future Black Metal and Black Metal have surpassed all previous.
