Horní Počaply

Horni Počaply ( German Upper Potschapl ) is a central Bohemian village with 1272 inhabitants (as of September 2006) on the left bank of the Elbe river in the Czech Republic. It is situated 18 kilometers northwest of Melnik and part of the eponymous district. The lowest point of the circle is the surface of the river Elbe near the village of Horni Počaply (153 meters).

History

The first written record comes from the year 1286. The municipality is heated since 2000 by means of district heating system, which is derived from waste incineration in the power plant Melnik II.

In Horni Pocaply (. 721 residents, police station, Pier, Catholic Church ) in 1932 following trades were registered: Biographer Sokol, brick, hairdresser, 4 Bed, wheelwright, blacksmith, three tailors, three shoemakers, two Bäker, 5 farmers, 3 butchers, 3 grocer, savings and spare club in Horni Pocaply, builder, 3 seamstresses, two tobacconists, 2 carpenters

Sight

  • Church of the Assumption: built as a Gothic church ( inside the church today received ) approximately in the 14th century, first mention of this period. Renewed 1869-1871. There is a nave with a rectangular presbytery and ground-level cultivation. On the west facade of a square tower, rebuilt in the 19th century in the presbytery vaulted ceiling with wedge-shaped ribs on pyramidal consoles and sanctuary with profile frames ( High Gothic, late 15th century) nave with pointed windows, corner pilasters and turrets. On the left corner of the front panel with the year in 1871.

  • Křivenice: independent municipality until 1961, since then the district of Horni Počaply. The village is located on the left bank of the Elbe, 7 km northwest of Melnik, in close proximity to the power plant Melnik. N.M. altitude 161 m On his visits to Liběchov the painter Max Švabinský emigrated to Křivenice and prepared here on his monumental work ZNE ago.

Traffic

Through the municipal area, the two-track electrified main line, the railway line Decin Prague runs ( Route number 090) with the stations ( Prague - ) Vraňany - Roudnice - Ústí nad Labem - Decin, which was opened in 1850 as Northern State Railway.

Public bus service connects the community with Melnik, Prague, Roudnice and Štětí. Passenger trains of the lines S4 ( Prague - Vraňany - Hněvice ) and R4 ( Prague - Kralupy nad Vltavou - Hněvice ) of high-speed railway network Esko Prague stick to the Horni Počaply Station ( 14 daily passenger trains (Os), weekends 10). Express trains and express trains stop here.
