Hoernli

The (M. 1'133 m above sea level. ) Elbow macaroni is a mountain in the municipality of fish in the east valley in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. The popular vantage point in the Zurich Oberland lies entirely on the canton.

Neighboring mountains

Just north of the elbow macaroni (415 m distance) is the Chlihörnli ( 1'073 m above sea level. M. ), on whose summit meet the Zurich fish communities Thal, Bauma and Sternberg. To the north of elbow macaroni (570 m distance), respectively, northeast of the Chlihörnli (260 m distance), is located on 992 m above sea level. M. of Dreiländerstein between the cantons of Zurich, St. Gallen and Thurgau. He is the highest point of the canton of Thurgau.

Hiking trails

In the Middle Ages the Schwabenweg, part of St James, on the elbow macaroni led. Since 2008, the road as a national trail 4 ViaJacobi ( road Kreuzlingen ), stage Fischingen -Rapperswil Hiking in Switzerland is signaled.

Others

The expected panoramic view of the macaroni is adjusted slightly by the full-grown in the last decades on the north side of trees. On the macaroni knoll there is a survey point of Landestriangulation first order. This consisted of an observation post which was surmounted by a pyramid signal until 1950. From the actual TP 1st order still exists underground center, the pyramid was renewed in 2000 and provided with an explanation sheet. From the station Hoernli from the stations Hohentwiel, Hersberg, Santis, Scheye, Rigi and warehouses were observed.

To the west, just below the elbow macaroni summit is the mountain inn macaroni. The macaroni is accessible from web in about an hour's walk.
