Horst (Spessart)
Horst from the south
The Horst is a 540 m above sea level. NN high mountain in the Hessischer Spessart Nature Park about four kilometers southeast of Bad Orb, in the Main- Kinzig-Kreis. He is the highest elevation in the district of Bad Orb and the highest mountain in the Orb of twigs, a mountain range in the northern Spessart between Bad Orb and the Jossgrund. Nevertheless, the Horst is a little pronounced mountain shape that rises only slightly above its surroundings.
Geography and landscape
The Horst is passed with dense spruce forest; towards the summit form ferns and foxgloves ground vegetation. An important distinction is the two identical antenna systems as well as a sign for " Horst, 540 meters " at the summit, which would otherwise be difficult to identify. The Horst offers only by a clearing just south of the summit is a partial view in the hills of the Bavarian Spessart into it.
Access / infrastructure
Through various trails of the Spessart Federal der Horst is available:
- From Bad Orb by the Bremer reason or through the Quick valley ( steep hill)
- Bad Orb over the Pfarrküppel ( 461 m), Bieber Bieber hut and height,
- Of Villbach past the golf course in Bad Orb Jossgrund,
- Bieber or Kassel in Kassel the top reason, then climb via Hunter Cross, Bieber Bieber hut and height.
