The Horst is a 553 meter-high hill in the Vogelsberg, Hesse, Germany.

The mountain lies between Gunzenau and Nieder-Moos, two districts of Freiensteinau 4.5 km north of the core community. 1.5 km west of the mountain is the 30 -acre Nieder-Mooser pond.

On the Horst There are three radio antennas and a cemetery with a chapel to which leads up a paved public road and from Gunzenau. Northern and western slopes of the mountain are densely forested, whereas the remaining slopes and about 500 m long summit ridge have no or sparse tree growth. The Horst allows east views to the Rhön. In the West, the views of the Upper and Lower - Mooser ponds enough away to Herchenhainer height and very clear days to the Great Feldberg in Taunus.
