Hotel Zipser

The hotel Zipser is located in the Lange Gasse in Vienna's 8th district of Josefstadt. It is a member of the group PrivateCityHotels.

History

In the 19th century, stood on the site of the house " to St. Anthony ", later " At the Golden Duck " ( Konskriptionsnummer 113/1846 ).

The 1904 finished at today's Long Lane No. 49 Building the woman Karoline Zipser served as a home for young girls. Soon after, it was rebuilt with eleven single and two double rooms for Pension Zipser.

Between 1920 and 1931 attended the Austrian writer Odon von Horvath few times in the pension Zipser, which is also mentioned in his book Tales from the Vienna Woods.

1967 acquired Hedwig Austerer the board and built this from previously 28 to a total of 53 rooms of. In 1972 the company was taken over by Manfred parental Austerer. Through him and through his wife Elisabeth Austerer the building underwent several renovations and conversions. In 1999, the younger son Bernhard Austerer the family business. 2002 due to ongoing enlargement and modernization of the pension Zipser finally the present Hotel Zipser.
