Hotseat (multiplayer mode)

Hot seat is a method to play computer games with more than one person, even if only one computer is available.

The computer usually shows only the data and part of the map that are known to the players concerned. The other players, meanwhile, maintain discretion and look away. This method is particularly suitable for turn-based strategy games where a train takes only a short time.

Some games that use this method are, for example: the Panzer General series, Sid Meier 's Alpha Centauri, Master of Orion 2, MAX - Mechanized Assault & Exploration and Heroes of Might and Magic.

In addition to this variation, there is still exposed hot-seat systems, in which each player can see the train the other. Among other things, Worms uses an open procedure. This variation often exists in racing games, although the waiting time for other players is rather larger and thus requires a lot of patience from the players.

Games with a hotseat mode can usually also be easily played by storing and sending of the score as e- mail game.
