Houdain

Houdain ( Dutch: Hosden or Hosdingen ) is a commune with 7623 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Pas -de- Calais, in the Nord -Pas -de- Calais; it belongs to the arrondissement Béthune and is the capital ( chef-lieu ) of the Canton of Houdain. The city lies on the River Lawe.
