House of Representatives

The House of Representatives is a legislative body. It usually refers to the House of Commons in a parliament consisting of two chambers. The upper house is often called in this case the Senate. However, there are also countries where the parliament consists of one chamber and is called the House of Representatives.

There are both representative democracies and constitutional monarchies, which have a House of Representatives.

The bicameral system serves as a corrective to the mutual decisions of Parliament.

These functions take in the Federal Republic of Germany, the Bundestag and the Bundesrat, which is functionally comparable. However, the Bundestag in Germany, the Parliament, while the Federal Council is not part of the Parliament.
