House of the Signatories

The Museum of the signatories of Lithuanian independence is located in the Old Town of Vilnius in Lithuania. In this building the file of the restoration of the independent State of Lithuania was signed on 16 February 1918.

In the rooms of the museum, in which the Act of Independence was signed, a memorial has been established. Here is also created by Rimgaudas Zebenka portrait gallery of all signatories to visit. The furniture in the Thonet style and were formerly owned by the Povilas Karazija family.

Some exhibition halls of the Signatarenhauses are also dedicated to the Declaration on the reconstruction of the independent State of Lithuania of 11 March 1990 and show documents the history and establishment of the regained statehood. The museum also hosts several temporary exhibitions. It is a branch of the Lithuanian National Museum.
