Howhannawank (Armenian Հովհաննավանք; translated John's Church ) is a monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Ohanawan ( Aragazotn province ), about 5 kilometers north of the provincial capital Ashtarak and about 20 kilometers northwest of Yerevan.

The monastery is located on the right edge of the gorge of the Kassagh, five kilometers south of the donated by the same prince of Vachutian Dynasty monastery Saghmosavank. The monastery is surrounded by a wall, outside of which only some remains of buildings have been preserved, which served secular purposes. According to legend, Howhannawank was built in the 4th century, reports of a church but are backed up until three centuries later. Most of the buildings date from the 13th century, including that of 1216 to 1221, built the cathedral, which was rebuilt from 1652 to 1734. The oldest part Howhannawanks forms the nave and carried by a barrel vault Johanneskiche, bounded on the north by the younger main building. In Gawit, which dates from the middle of the 13th century and to the west adjoining the main building, the dome was in 1274 replaced by a zwölfsäulige rotunda. Earthquakes in 1679 and 1918 added Howhannawank to severe damage.
