Howl's Moving Castle

Sophie in the castle of the magician ( original title Howl's Moving Castle ) is a published 1986 fantasy novel by Diana Wynne Jones for young adults. The work was first published in Germany in 2005 when Carlsen Verlag in a translation by Gabriele Haefs.

The book served as the basis for the Japanese Anime Howl's Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki from the year 2004. Movie and book differ in action widely.

Jones even wrote two sequels in history. In 1990, the second band Castle (many princesses, 2003 Pretty German ) and 2008, the third volume House of Many Ways, which so far is not present as translation appeared in the Air.

Awards

The book received the 1986 Boston Globe - Horn Book Awards Honor Book award and was awarded the 2006 Youth Literature Prize Phoenix Award.
