Hradiště (Rokycany District)

Hradiště ( German Hradischt ) is a municipality with 24 inhabitants ( 2008) in the Czech Republic. It is located 14 kilometers north of Zbiroh in Pürglitzer forest and belongs to Okres Rokycany. The land area is 284 ha

Geography

The place is located in Radnitzer Bergland, 317 m above sea level. M. on the right slope of the Berounkatals. To the north on the opposite bank is the Bělidlo (371 m) in the south and the Cerna rises skalka ( 468 m).

Neighboring towns are Kostelík in the north, and Hřebečníky Šlovice in the northeast, Cila to the east, Podmokly in the south, southwest, and Chříč Zvíkovec in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from 1318. Previously was on the point of the village an old fort, whose Celtic origin was confirmed by finds of Rainbow Cup, especially the hoard of Podmokl.

In 1843 Hradischt / Hradisst from 21 houses with 167 inhabitants was. Vicarage was Zwikowetz. Until the mid-19th century Hradischt remained the Fideikommiss Křivoklát submissive.

In 1939 there were about 150 people in the village. Since then, the population has fallen sharply and more than 60 houses used as vacation rentals for recreational purposes in the Biosphere Reserve Krivoklatsko.
