Hristina Hristova

Christina Christowa ( Bulgarian Христина Христова; born January 21, 1954 in Popitza, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian politician and was Member of Parliament for the National Movement Simeon the Second.

Christowa studied at the University "St. Kliment Ohridski " in Sofia, received in 1981 she graduated the Faculty of Arts. 1982 to 1992 she was a researcher at the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research, was then between 1993 and 2001 Director of the National Centre for Social Rehabilitation and is since 1996 professor for the Theory of Social Work at the University of St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia and at the Free University Burgas. 2003 Christowa received her doctorate in sociology.

Christowa belongs to the " National Movement Simeon II ". 2001 to 2003 she was Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy, as of 2003 they finally had held the office of Minister for Labour and Social Policy to 2005. Since 2005 Christowa member of the Policy Council of the National Movement Simeon II, and deputy of the National Assembly. 2005-2006 she was a member of the Bulgarian European Parliament observation mission.

As part of the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union they belonged since 1 January 2007, the European Parliament, where he was a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. After the Bulgarian European Parliament elections in May 2007 Christowa difference on 5 June 2007 again from the European Parliament.

Christowa was awarded the Order of the Crown of the Kingdom of Belgium.
