Hrvatske autoceste

Hrvatske autoceste d.o.o. (HAC ) (Eng. about Croatian Motorways Ltd.) is the largest Croatian motorway operator company. It was founded in 1991 and is 100 % owned by the Croatian Ministry of Transport under the current Minister Bozidar Kalmeta. Current Chairman of the HAC is Stjepko Boban.

The national operating company HAC alone is responsible for the management of investments in the Croatian highway infrastructure and its subsequent use. By the end of 2009 operates Hrvatske autoceste nine of the thirteen Croatian highways. Four Croatian highways were private operators assumed (there are three private companies: Autocesta Rijeka -Zagreb dd, Zagreb Autocesta - Macelj doo, Bina Istra dd).

Fraud scandal

By the end of 2009 a number of corruption scandals in the management of HAC are noticed.
