HSBC Bank A.Ş. is the Turkish subsidiary of HSBC and the fifth largest bank in Turkey.

History

HSBC Bank A.Ş. was founded in 1990 as a subsidiary of HSBC in Turkey.

The Demirbank TAS came in the late 1990s during the crisis of the Turkish banking system in financial problems and after being rescued by public funds under state supervision. In October 2001, HSBC acquired the Demirbank TAS and rose to become the fifth largest private bank in Turkey.
