Hubert Buchberger

Hubert Buchberger ( born 1951 in Frankfurt ) is a German violinist, conductor and music professor.

Buchberger studied from 1970 to 1977 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main at Heinz Günther Stanske and Weigmann violin and chamber music.

In 1974 he was a founding member of the Buchberger Quartet, whose first violinist he has since. 1978 and 1979, the quartet winners of the " National Selection of Young Artists " of the German Music Council was promoted and won international competitions in Portsmouth, Hanover and Evian. Also since 1974, he directs the Offenbacher Chamber Orchestra.

1977 Buchberger received a teaching position at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule, 1985, he was appointed honorary professor there and called 1988 full-time professor of chamber music. He teaches the subjects Chamber Music / song composition and chamber music for strings. From his chamber music classes several concertante ensembles have emerged. From 1991 to 1994 he was Vice-Rector, from May 1998 to November 2000 Dean of the Faculty of Artistic Education, November 2000-July 2002 Vice- President of the Academy of Music.

As a juror, he acts on state and national competitions " Young Musicians " and other music competitions. Since 2007, he has assumed the artistic direction of the Osnabrueck Chamber Music Days.

Buchberger lives in Bad Vilbel.
