Hubert M. Blalock, Jr.

Hubert Morse " Tad " Blalock, Jr. ( born August 23, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland, † February 8, 1991 in Bellevue, Washington) was an American sociologist who mainly dealt with sociological theories of measurement. 1978/1979 he was the 70th president of the American Sociological Association. He taught as a professor at the University of Washington.

Blalock was born into the family of a rich factory owner 's daughter and an employee of Aetna Insurance Company. After school he attended in 1944 one semester studying at Dartmouth College before joining with 18 in the U.S. Navy.
