Hugo Neumann

Hugo Neumann ( pseudonym: Felix Norbert, born May 8, 1882 in Berent, West Prussia, † September 4, 1962 in Paris) was a German jurist and writer.

Life

Hugo Neumann studied law at the universities of Berlin, Königsberg and Heidelberg, where he in June 1904 with a thesis on the " public- legal position of doctors," Dr. jur. doctorate. Until the 1930s, he worked as a lawyer and notary in Gdansk. Politically, he worked there as a Liberal MP in the Danziger People's Day and as a Senator.

In 1938, Neumann moved due to the growing influence of Nazism on the Government of the Free City of Danzig to Paris. After the Second World War he worked from 1945 to 1948 as a French legal adviser to the Allied Control Council in Berlin.

In Switzerland he was since 1956 Chairman of the Board of the International Trust AG.

Under the pseudonym Felix Norbert Neumann presented a collection of short stories and a novel. Under his own name he published a novel and his memoirs.
