Humphreys Peak is the highest peak in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is located in Coconino County, just north of Flagstaff. The Humphreys Peak is the highest peak in the San Francisco Mountains, a mountain of volcanic mountain group of the San Francisco Peaks. It is in the Kachina Peaks Wilderness, a wilderness area, the strictest class of protected natural areas in the United States. The summit can be reached on a 8 km long hiking trail, there is due to the nature conservation marked trails and hiking groups are limited to twelve people.
